Initially, the company offered only automobile insurance, and its primary target demographic was farmers. The American Family Jingle became a popular advertising slogan during the 1970's, and in 1986, a new motto was devised. The new motto, which promoted strong growing and friendliness, was used for both American Family home insurance and American Family car insurance. In 2002, the corporation celebrated its 75thbirthday.
